PPES PTA Volunteer Interest

Committee Chair/Lead - Oversees a specific area of PTA work, organizes volunteers, and ensures that their committee’s projects run smoothly and support the school community.

Commitee Member - Supports the Committee Lead and work of a specific committee by helping plan, prepare, and carry out activities that benefit the school community.

Volunteer - Supports during the school events and programs.

Sounds interesting, but not sure what capacity I could support! - Just like it says, this is a committee that is intriguing to you, but you need more information about the committee, time commitment or type of commitment before volunteering.

Hospitality - Helps plan thank‑you events, treats, and recognition moments throughout the year, including Staff Appreciation Week in the Spring.

Reflections Committee - Oversees the school’s participation in the Wake & National PTA Reflections arts program, guiding students, promoting the theme, and managing submissions from start to finish.

Spirit Nights - Schedules events with restaurants or community partners that give a percentage back to the school.

Spirit Rock - Oversees the sign‑up calendar and confirms bookings with families. Shares rules, painting instructions, and reminders about cleanup or timing.

Sponsorship Committee - Reaches out to local businesses for donations, funding, or event support.

Book Fair Committee - Oversees the Fall and Spring Book Fairs at PPES. Fall 9/8-9/18 & Spring 4/12-4/27

5th Grade Activities - Plans and coordinates the special end‑of‑year experiences that celebrate students’ final year of elementary school, ensuring events are memorable, organized, and fun.

Kids on the Run Committee - Supports the school’s Kids on the Run program by organizing practices, coordinating volunteers, and encouraging students to build confidence, fitness, and teamwork through running.

Spirit Wear Committee - Ensures communications are sent for upcoming spirit wear sales and distributes spirit wear to classrooms once it arrives at school.

DEI/Advocacy Committee - Works to ensure all students, families, and staff feel welcomed, represented, and supported by promoting inclusive practices and strengthening the sense of belonging within the school community. This also includes our Cardinal Cupboard Initiative.

Newsletter Committee - Creates monthly newsletters summarizing upcoming PTA events to send to PTA Members and school families.

Yearbook Committee - Creates the school’s yearbook by gathering photos, designing pages, and coordinating production so every student has a meaningful keepsake of the school year.

Fall Fundraiser Committee - Coordinate and plan our Fall Fundraiser! Our end goal is to purchase Sun Shades for both playgrounds.
