Welcome to stɑl̓əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society first ever weaving gathering.

stɑl̓əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society is dedicated to advocacy and empowering Indigenous artists living in Coast Salish territories in order to share their gifts. We honor and respect our ancestors while working to revitalize our traditional practices through mentorship and community building.

This weaving gathering offers you the opportunity to experience everything from basket weaving to special talks by master weavers. The event will be held over two days.

We will feature 18 talented weavers, each ready to teach you how to create a variety of projects, from baskets to hats. Every weaver will offer a different project you can work on. Kit fees are paid directly to the weavers and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Featured Weavers: Hazel Gludo, Richard Fillardeau, Debra Sparrow, Aleen Sparrow, Atheana Picha, Joan Williams, Joy Hall, Frieda George, Roxanne Dool, Tracy Williams, Chief Janice George, Buddy Joseph, Nadine McSpadden, Zoe Mcdonell, Deanna Wium, Angela Paul, Carlyn Andres and Chris Silver.

I hereby acknowledge and agree to participate voluntarily in activities, programs, workshops, performances, gatherings, and events organized by Stalew Arts & Cultural Society. In consideration of my participation, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stalew Arts & Cultural Society, its directors, coordinators, cultural leaders, artists, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, employees, and affiliated organizations from and against any liability, claims, damages, losses, or expenses, including legal fees and court costs, arising out of or related to my participation in Stalew activities or events.

Stalew Arts & Cultural Society may document its events and community programming through photography, audio, and video recordings for the purpose of celebrating, preserving, and promoting arts, culture, education, and community engagement. By attending or participating in a Stalew event, I grant permission for Stalew to use my image, voice, and likeness in print, digital, social media, promotional, educational, archival, and fundraising materials now and in the future, without compensation.

Stalew is committed to respectfully representing the diverse cultures, artists, and communities involved in its programming. If I do not wish my likeness to be used in this way, I understand that I must notify Stalew Arts & Cultural Society in writing at info@stalew.ca at least 48 hours before the event start time.
