Why does this information need to be provided?
This information is required to confirm growers’ voting entitlement at the Annual General meeting. The rules of Summerfruit NZ Inc. state:
• Clause 7.9(a)
One vote for every hectare or part thereof of land on which Summerfruit is planted, owned or operated by that Producer Member as shown by the records of the Society current at the time.
and
• Clause 7.13
In each year each Producer Member shall provide to the Board in writing such information relating to the area of land utilised in the production of Summerfruit by the Member as the Board shall require for the purposes of establishing the Member’s voting entitlement.
What happens if a Producer Member does not supply the necessary information or provides incorrect information?
If you do not provide the necessary information regarding your area planted, or provide incorrect or invalid information, your declaration will be discarded and you will not receive additional votes at the Annual General Meeting.
