    Review the two viewpoints of Option 1 for the Harris Lake Park playground. 

    This design is highlighted by a large central play tower with three slide options, sensory panels and climbing features. Monkey bars and balance features lead to the tower playground safety is enhanced through rubberized surfacing in strategic locations. The remainer of the play container will be surfaced with wood chips. Swing options would include three standard belt swings, one toddler bucket swing and one accessible swing.

    Review the two viewpoints of Option 2 for the Harris Lake Park playground. 

    This design features a centralized play tower with extensive rope climbing nets for active and creative play. A large disc swing that can hold several children is a highlight of the design and several standalone elements allow for a variety of play experiences including spinning, rocking, and sensory play. Monkey bars, balance elements, and a double slide complete the many options for fun in this design. A mix of wood chips and rubberized safety surfacing are included in the ground cover.

  • Recommendations for the redevelopment of Harris Lake Park include:

    • Landscape enhancements and screening
    • Open lawn with low-grow and/or pollinator-friendly turf mixture
    • New playground
    • ADA compliant playground surfacing (engineered wood fiber)
    • Concrete playground border
    • Picnic shelter with two tables
    • Small parking area for improved access and safety
    • Site furnishings with common characteristic (benches, tables, receptacles, bike racks, drinking fountain, etc.)
    • Trail amenities (bike rack, kiosk)
    • Walk and trail connections to create an internal loop
    • Lake seating areas
    • Dock on lake
