    Review the two viewpoints of Option 1 for the Madsen Park playground. 

    This destination playground features multiple play towers connected by opportunities for swinging, climbing and balancing at a range of different challenge levels. A large zip line feature is also a highlight of this design. A triple slide, multiple rocking elements, and rope climbing feature add to the unique elements of this design. Swing options are abundant with a large disc swing and separate swing set featuring three different swing types for a variety of ages and abilities. Accessibility and comfort are enhanced through two shade structures and extensive rubberized safety surfacing. A wide variety of musical and sensory play features ensure that this playground will have something for everyone!

    Review the two viewpoints of Option 2 for the Madsen Park playground. 

    Imaginations will run wild at this unique playground featuring a dedicated play structure for ages 2-5 and an enclosed play tower packed with climbing elements and a larger spiral slide! A mix of rubberized safety surfacing and wood chips ensure that all can access and enjoy this play space. An arched bridge climbing and balance element adds an element of adventure to the design. An incredible array of swing options is included with standard, bucket and accessible swings along with a unique hammock-style swing for two. Several musical play elements are available along with sensory play panels, monkey bars, balance and spinning features and more to create a one-of-a-kind play experience.

  • Recommendations for the redevelopment of Madsen Park include:

    • New playground meeting varying age groups
    • ADA compliant playground surfacing (engineered wood fiber)
    • New park trails with internal loops and improved connection to external trails with crosswalks
    • Exercise or challenge pieces along trails
    • Park pavilion building with wifi, restrooms, open air picnic area, and potentially an internal meeting room
    • Paved hockey rink for multi-season use including basketball overlay
    • Landscape enhancements to include an edible orchard
