Join Uncle John Kaohelaulii and Kimo Chun for a hands-on beginner-level introduction to Kōnane, the traditional Hawaiian game of strategy and skill. Participants of all experience levels are invited to gather around the papamū to learn gameplay basics, explore strategic thinking, and connect through storytelling, observation, and play.
This interactive community workshop welcomes beginners, families, educators, and curious community members alike. Participants will learn the basics of Kōnane through guided instruction, open gameplay, and talk story opportunities that explore the cultural depth and manaʻo connected to this beloved Hawaiian game.
