Waldorf University's English department recognizes talented creative writers, budding scholars and voracious readers with renewable scholarships of up to $16,000 for those who desire to study Creative Writing. To apply, you must wish to pursue either a major or minor in Creative Writing at Waldorf University. Applications will be accepted through January 15 for first consideration. We will continue to accept strong applications until all scholarships have been awarded. Applications are judged by the faculty and staff of the English department. Craftsmanship and future potential that would benefit from creative writing mentorship are the focus of our selection process, not your prior record of academic achievement.
To stay eligible for the scholarship, students need to maintain a 3.0 GPA and major or minor in Creative Writing at Waldorf University.
To apply, please submit the following:
- Your contact information (filled out in the form below)
- A 200-word response about the role writing has played in your life
- A sample of your creative writing in one or more genres.
We are currently accepting applications in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and screenwriting.
