    New permits are now available for the 2026 season. Good news! The permit fees will be the same as they were in 2025! Children aged under 16 can pan without a permit if they are supervised by an adult with a valid permit. They must be supervised at all times and the parent/guardian takes responsibility for the safety of the child.

    Please fill in this form to secure a permit to undertake recreational gold panning in Tyndrum Community Woodland. To obtain a permit you must pay a small fee and adhere to Best Practice as defined by SEPA (Scottish Environmental Protection Agency) . Not adhering to Best Practice means that you will be reported to SEPA who can charge you with an offence under the Controlled Activities Regulations. This permission will last during, or for the length of your permit, the permitted gold panning season - June 1st 2026 to October 31st 2026.
