My Life in the Bathroom (and other places too): A Memoir of an Ulcerative Colitis Warrior by Ian Bain. Ian was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 12 years old, joining around 296,000 other people in the UK and beginning a life-long journey of dealing with the challenges associated with this often unspoken about disease. He decided to write My Life in the Bathroom to raise awareness of ulcerative colitis and help other people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease feel less alone. We are incredibly grateful to Ian for donating several copies of his book to St Mark's Hospital Foundation. The proceeds from their sale will go to support crucial research at St Mark's that will make a difference in the lives of individuals with complex, and rare, bowel diseases.
