The 2026-2027 Period Power Coalition Executive Board will be comprised of three committees. Each committee will have 3 members. The responsibilities of each committee are as follows:
Advocacy & Policy Committee
Lead the movement’s policy change work at the school, district, and state levels.
Responsibilities:
- Create and share exec. board meeting agendas
- Track relevant legislation (e.g. school funding for period products) and share
- info with Comms committee to promote
- Meet with school boards or local officials as needed
- Help plan and lead Period Power Advocacy Day at the NC General Assembly
Ambassador Engagement Committee
Grow and support a strong, statewide network of Period Power Coalition Ambassadors.
Responsibilities:
- Create and share Ambassador meeting agendas in collaboration with DBNC staff
- If relevant - Secure speakers for each meeting at the beginning of each semester and send reminders to them in collaboration with DBNC staff
- Research and reach out to student organizations in counties across NC about our work
- Brainstorm and execute creative activities (e.g. "Red Shirt Days,” drives, and volunteer projects) to engage Ambassador team
Communications & Campaigns Committee
Amplify student voices to shape the public narrative around period equity and promote the Coalition's initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Help recruit Ambassadors from all 100 NC counties
- Create Period Power content for PPC Instagram + other platforms
- Design social media graphics and reels
- Collect and share student stories and quotes from around the state
- Celebrate and spotlight Ambassador contributions
- Ensure consistent messaging aligned with the movement’s values
