Program Overview
Dancenter provides a dedicated scholarship fund to support talented dancers who demonstrate high motivation and a genuine need for financial assistance. This program is limited to a maximum of 20 students per academic year.
Eligibility
- The student must be enrolled or applying for enrolment in regular term classes at Dancenter.
- The family must demonstrate genuine financial need through the application process.
- The student must show consistent motivation, effort, and commitment to their training.
Coverage and Limitations
- The scholarship applies strictly to tuition fees for regular term classes.
- The award does not cover competitions, workshops, costumes, or special show events.
- Recipients are responsible for paying any additional fees related to performances or external activities.
Attendance and Commitment
- Students must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 90% throughout the term.
- Absences for personal travel or leisure are not permitted and will result in immediate loss of the scholarship.
Family Contribution — Volunteering
As part of this scholarship agreement, families are required to contribute their time to support Dancenter events and productions. Volunteer roles include:
- Front of House Helper — greeting guests, checking tickets, or assisting at reception.
- Backstage Helper — assisting with costume changes, student supervision, or show logistics.
- Photography — capturing high-quality content during rehearsals or events.
Application Process
- Families must submit the completed application form including all required sections.
- A written letter of motivation is required.
- A signed declaration of financial need must be included.
- Supporting financial documentation is optional but prioritised during review.
- The deadline for all applications is 30/06/2026. Late submissions will not be considered.
Review and Selection
Applications are reviewed by the Dancenter team using a structured scoring framework that considers family financial situation, household composition, student track record, and motivation. Awards are granted to top-scoring applicants until the 20-student cap or fund limit is reached.
Renewal
This scholarship is not automatically renewed. Recipients must submit a new application each year to be considered for continued financial assistance. Reapplying does not guarantee a new award, as all applications — including those from previous recipients — are reviewed equally through the same selection process.
