2026 Alaska Forest Stewardship Program Free Seedling Give-away

The Alaska Forest Stewardship Program’s seedling giveaway is intended to support landowners by providing white spruce seedlings grown from seed collected in specific regions of Alaska. Seedlings will arrive in Fairbanks in early July 2026 and will be available for pickup at the Fairbanks Division of Forestry & Fire Protection office. Seedlings for Palmer, Soldotna, and Homer are expected to arrive in late July or early August 2026 and will be available for pickup at those respective Division of Forestry & Fire Protection offices. While the minimum order for direct pickup is 360 seedlings, smaller quantities will also be available at various public events in late July and early August. Seedlings are provided free of charge for personal use only, and resale is strictly prohibited.

Note: Seedlings designated for pickup in Soldotna and Homer will include a mix of white spruce and Lutz spruce.
