  • FLASH FICTION COMPETITION 2026 - PUBLIC ENTRY FORM

    Thank you for entering your or your child's story. Please note that all stories must have been written by individuals (e.g. not by groups), we can only accept one entry per person, and stories must be exactly 50 words long. If you have any difficulties using this form, please email competitions@lincolnbookfestival.org. We'll be in touch with shortlisted authors in mid-September, and all authors are invited to our celebration event at Lincoln Arts Centre on the morning of Sat 3rd October 2026, so please save the date in your diary! Deadline for entries is midnight on Monday 24th August.

  • Please write your short story below. Your story should be on the theme of "Hobbies" but you can interpret this as broadly as you wish. It must be exactly 50 words in length - no more, no less! The title does not count towards the wordcount.
