Go Beyond Youth Leadership Camp – Terms & Conditions
Please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully. By submitting your application, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Participation & Eligibility
- Applicants must be aged between 12 - 25 years old
- Only those who have completed the application form and paid the required fees (unless sponsored) will be eligible to attend.
- United Muslims of Brisbane (UMB) reserves the right to accept or decline applications at its discretion.
2. Behaviour & Code of Conduct
- All participants are expected to adhere to Islamic values and demonstrate respect towards organisers, supervisors, fellow campers, and property.
- Disrespectful, aggressive, inappropriate, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Possession or use of prohibited items such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, vapes, weapons, or inappropriate materials is strictly forbidden.
- Mobile phones and electronic devices are not permitted on the camp site. UMB will provide a dedicated contact number that parents/guardians can use to reach their child in case of an emergency.
3. Health & Safety
- UMB and camp supervisors will take reasonable measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
- Participants must comply with all safety instructions, including during physical activities.
- It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to disclose all relevant medical conditions, allergies, and medication requirements in the application form.
- UMB is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or incidents arising from non-disclosure of medical information or disregard for safety instructions.
4. Supervision & Responsibility
- UMB staff, supervisors, and volunteers will provide supervision during the camp.
- Participants are expected to follow the instructions of supervisors at all times.
- Parents/guardians will be contacted in the event of serious illness, injury, or breach of conduct.
- UMB reserves the right to send a participant home at the parent/guardian's expense if they breach the rules or jeopardise the safety and wellbeing of others.
5. Media & Photography
- Photos and videos may be taken during the camp for promotional or educational purposes.
- By participating, you consent to the use of your image in UMB publications, website, social media, and other promotional material, unless you explicitly opt-out in writing before the camp.
6. Refund & Cancellation Policy
- Camp fees are non-refundable, except in circumstances deemed exceptional by UMB.
- In the event of illness or emergency preventing attendance, UMB may consider partial refunds at its discretion.
7. Liability
- UMB, its staff, volunteers, and affiliated parties will not be held liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property during the camp, except where required by law.
8. Acknowledgement & Consent
By submitting this application:
- You confirm all information provided is accurate and complete.
- You agree to abide by the rules and instructions provided by UMB.
- You understand that failure to comply may result in dismissal from the camp.
- You consent to UMB managing your personal information in accordance with privacy laws for camp-related purposes.
Parent/Guardian consent is required for participants under the age of 18.
IMPORTANT: There will be a mandatory Induction held on the Sunday 6th September at the UMB Masjid. Failure to attend the induction without a valid excuse ahead of time may result in your spot being forfeited.
