• HALT Foundation: Equine Welfare Grant

HALT Foundation Equine Welfare Grants provide partial funding to support initiatives that advance the health, welfare, ethical treatment, and long-term well-being of equines involved in Equine-Assisted Services (EAS). Priority is given to applicants in Virginia and to initiatives that strengthen equine welfare standards, improve daily care and handling practices, support soundness and longevity of working horses, and promote ethical, evidence-informed approaches within EAS programs. Applications are evaluated based on demonstrated benefit to equines, alignment with best practices in equine care, commitment to humane and ethical treatment, and potential impact on EAS program quality and sustainability. Typical awards range from $300–$1,000. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by the HALT Foundation Scholarship Committee; please allow 2–4 weeks for review. The HALT Foundation is an equal opportunity organization and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
