• 2027 Law & Social Policy Legacy Award Nomination Form

  • Overview

    The Law & Social Policy Legacy Award, presented by Economic Opportunity Funders (EOF) with support from the Public Welfare Foundation, recognizes organizations using law and policy to defend low-wage workers' rights in the United States.

    One $10,000 unrestricted award will be given annually through 2030. Awardees are recognized at EOF's Annual Budget and Tax Briefing and featured in a short video shared with funders and partners.  

    Eligibility

    • This award is open to any 501(c)(3) organization (or fiscally sponsored project) working in the field of law and social policy to advance low-wage workers’ rights in the United States.
    • Individuals are not eligible.
    • Anyone can nominate an organization. Self-nominations are welcome.
    • Previous nominees may be nominated again. Past award recipients are not eligible for future nominations.

    Evaluation criteria

    Nominations will be evaluated on the following criteria:

    • Engages in both law and policy to defend and advocate for low-wage workers’ rights.
    • Meaningfully impacts the lives of individual low-wage workers and advances structural and systemic change.
    • Employs a strong worker engagement model and centers the voices of low-wage workers in their work.
    • Stands out among their peers.

    Preference will be given to nominees who can use the recognition from this award to address a key challenge or opportunity. We are especially interested in smaller, under-resourced organizations that meet all our criteria.

    Timeline

    • Nominations open: September 1, 2026
    • Nomination submission deadline: 11:59 PM ET on October 5, 2026
    • Award winner notified: November 2, 2026
    • Award winner recognized: EOF Annual Budget and Tax Briefing in March 2027
