Ringwald Audition: Equus

Peter Shaffer’s Equus is a bold psychological drama about obsession, identity, and the forces that shape who we become. After 17-year-old Alan Strang commits an unthinkable act of violence, psychiatrist Martin Dysart attempts to uncover the truth behind the crime and Alan’s intense spiritual connection to horses.
Auditions will be held Saturday, June 20 from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at The Ringwald Theatre, located inside Affirmations at 290 W. 9 Mile Rd in Ferndale.

Actors should arrive at 11:00 a.m. and have availability to stay until 2:00 p.m.

Sides will be emailed in advance.

Equus runs October 9–November 2, 2026, with performances Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tech will be October 3 & 4, and rehearsals begin in September.

All actors will receive a $650 stipend. No Equity contracts are available.
