The Issue
As Sunriver owners, we've always cherished the unique benefits that come with living in our beautiful community. One of these benefits has been the freedom to access the two iconic golf courses at Sunriver, a privilege that was guaranteed to us under a perpetual easement.
However, this crucial aspect of our Sunriver experience has been unjustly stripped away. The Sunriver Resort has privatized these courses, effectively disregarding the longstanding easement agreement and denying us the access that has been rightfully ours. This move has not only disrupted our ability to enjoy these cherished courses but has also threatened the integrity of our community and undermined the trust that exists between the Resort and Sunriver owners.
Access to these golf courses is more than a recreational privilege; it's a fundamental right that was a cornerstone of property ownership in Sunriver. The guarantee of access played a significant role in the decision-making process for many of us when choosing to invest in Sunriver properties. Removing this access not only devalues our properties but also diminishes our quality of life in this serene environment.
Restoring access will not only preserve the community’s reliance on longstanding agreements but will also foster goodwill and cooperation, essential components to the vibrancy and unity of the Sunriver community.
TO THE SROA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
We the undersigned Sunriver owners petition the SROA Board of Directors to take immediate and affirmative action to restore owners' right to access Sunriver's two golf courses.
We urge the Board to explore all reasonable legal steps necessary to restore our guaranteed access to the golf courses. While the Board should continue constructive dialogue with Sunriver Resort representatives, there must be an unwavering effort by the Board to enforce the terms of the perpetual easement and to ensure our rights are respected and reinstated.
