2028 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art
AGSA is seeking Exhibition Proposals for the 20th Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, to be presented March to June 2028.
Known for its risk taking and expansive curatorial vision, each iteration of the Adelaide Biennial proposes a different thematic frame or premise. Presenting new works of art by leading and emerging contemporary artists from around Australia, the Adelaide Biennial is defined by adventure, experimentation, and provocation. Since 1990 the Adelaide Biennial has played a role in supporting the practices and accelerating the careers and profiles of Australian curators and artists.
Please note curators must be based in Australia.
Deadline for submissions is 5pm (ACST - Adelaide local time) 26 June 2026. Applicants will be informed on the status of their proposal by 24 July 2026.
We welcome expressions of interest from curators and arts workers practising from various social and cultural contexts and independent or institutional working situations, especially First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse peoples.
