  • 6. Behavior Expectations and Dismissal Policy

  • At Shepherd Creative Arts, we are committed to fostering a respectful, joyful, and Christ-honoring environment where every student feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow in their creative gifts. By enrolling in our program, students and families agree to the following expectations: - Student Expectations:
    • Show kindness, encouragement, and respect to directors, fellow cast-mates, volunteers, and guest instructors.
    • Participate fully in rehearsals with focus and a willing attitude.
    • Use uplifting, appropriate language and avoid disruptive behavior.
    • Take care of all spaces, costumes, and props.
    • Come prepared (lines memorized, appropriate attire, positive attitude).
    - Behaviors That May Result in Dismissal:
    • Ongoing disrespect or disruptive behavior after repeated correction.
    • Bullying, aggressive language, or actions that make others feel unsafe.
    • Inappropriate physical contact or refusal to follow basic safety instructions.
    • Repeated unexcused absences or failure to meet program responsibilities.
    Our desire is always restoration and growth. If an issue arises, we will:
    1. Speak with the student to offer correction and support.
    2. Contact the parent/guardian to partner in addressing the issue.
    3. If necessary, place the student on a SMART plan, probation, or dismiss them from the program.

  • Dismissal decisions are made at the discretion of the program leadership and are considered final. In the event of a dismissal, tuition will not be refunded.
  • Attendance Policy

  • Participation in Shepherd Creative Arts productions requires a strong commitment from both students and families. Because musical theater is a team effort, consistent attendance is essential to ensure successful rehearsals and performances.
  • Students are expected to attend all rehearsals, tech week, and performances. Performances week for the 26-27 season is April 5-9. Excessive absences may result in reduced stage time, recasting, or dismissal at the discretion of program leadership.
  • Costume & Performance Responsibilities Acknowledgment

  • By enrolling in Shepherd Creative Arts, I understand and agree to the following:
    • Costume Requirements:
    I will provide basic costume pieces (such as shoes, tights, undershirts, or other requested items) as specified by the costume team. Shepherd Arts will provide specialty or shared costume pieces when possible.
    • Care of Costumes:
    I will take responsibility for any costume items sent home and will ensure they are returned in good condition by the assigned deadline.
    • Performance Commitment:
    I understand that participation in final performances is required, and I will make every effort to attend all scheduled rehearsals, especially tech week and dress rehearsals.
    • Parental Support:
    I agree to check BAND for costume notes, schedules, and reminders regularly and will communicate any conflicts as early as possible.
  • Failure to fulfill these responsibilities may affect my student's ability to participate fully in the production.

  • 7. Payment Info & Agreement

  • By registering for Shepherd Creative Arts, I understand and agree to the following
    registration and tuition terms:
    • Registration is $115, per student, due by July 15
    • Tuition is $115 per month per student, from August through April
    • Monthly tuition includes all regular rehearsals and the production fee—there is no separate performance fee.
  • Commitment:

  • By enrolling, I am committing to the full program year (August–April).
  • I understand that:
    • Tuition is non-refundable, and
    • I am responsible for the full year's tuition, even if my student withdraws before the program concludes.
  • This policy ensures we can maintain staffing, secure venues, and plan productions effectively based on enrollment.
  • Refund Policy

  • Shepherd Creative Arts makes casting, staffing, licensing, and production decisions based on confirmed enrollment. For this reason, all tuition and registration fees are non-refundable, except in extraordinary circumstances such as serious illness or relocation, at the discretion of program leadership.
    • Program Cancellation by Shepherd Arts:
    In the rare event that we must cancel a program season, a pro-rated refund will be provided.
  • We appreciate your understanding as we strive to be fair to families while stewarding our resources responsibly.

    • A non-refundable registration fee of $115 per student is due July 15.
