Florida Region 2026-2028
Publicity Director
Sends notices to Alumni groups, the University’s communications media, chapter newsletters, etc. covering all Regional events; Compiles and transmits documents to be published through media sponsored and/or supported by the Region.
General Counsel
Reviews all Region contracts and submits rulings and suggestions in a timely manner; Submits written reports on all legal issues that could adversely affect the Region; Serves as a counselor on task forces or in meetings with legal implications.
Budget and Finance Committee
Responsibilities: The Budget and Finance Committee shall: 1) oversee the fiduciary responsibilities of the Association, and 2) assist in the financial reports, tax returns and other reporting necessary for proper audit. The Committee shall submit an annual budget for the Executive Committee approval at the last meeting of the Association of each Fiscal year. The budget will be based on normally expected income and expenditure and will show the previous year’s financial activity.
Recruitment and Scholarship Committee
Responsibilities- The Recruitment and Scholarship Committee will engage and assist chapters with student recruitment activities, including when necessary, recommending revisions to their annual selection process. Maintain contact with the University and National Student Recruitment Committee for all student recruitment programs and activities.
Scholarship Committee
Responsibilities- The Scholarship Committee will engage and assist chapters with their annual alumni scholarship process, including when necessary, recommending revisions to their annual selection process. Design and implement the distribution of the Region’s scholarships.
Public Relations Committee
Responsibilities-the committee shall: 1. Establish and maintain a line of communication with the public relations office at the University to ensure the receipt of news items occurring at the University; 2. Be responsible for media news releases of the Region in collaboration with the Executive Committee. 3. Secure positive and meaningful publicity for the work of the Association with the press, to include print and broadcast media.
Government Relations Committee
Responsibilities- Maintain familiarity with government-related matters with direct or potential impact on the Florida Region, National Alumni Association, and the University. 1) Inform the Executive Committee of Directors regarding government-related matters with direct or potential impact on the Florida Region, National Alumni Association, and the University; 2) Assist the Florida Region, National Alumni Association, and the University in analyzing direct or potential impact of government-related matters on the University; 3) Include University Government Relations updates in their report(s) to the Association; 4) Compose solutions to creating awareness among federal, state and local policymakers regarding issues that impact the University.
Educational Affairs Committee
Responsibilities- Gather, disseminate, and propose solutions regarding retention and academic growth of University students, making recommendations concerning the implementation of formulated strategies for moving the University forward in its academic mission. Create educational workshops for members and students.
Benevolence Committee
Responsibilities- Record and maintain information on the passing of our members, send condolences and resolutions to the family as appropriate and forward notices to the Office of Alumni Affairs.
Membership Committee
Plan, implement and coordinate membership activities to ensure that all eligible people are recruited and retained as members of the Association. Recruit alumni and associate members and other significant people to increase the Regional membership. Develop and maintain an accurate roster of all members by categories to contribute to a complete database.
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee shall plan and implement programs and projects to secure funds as required by the budget and the Region’s operations as directed by the President and/or the Executive Committee. The committee will also solicit corporate sponsorships and donations.
District Representative (6)
The District Representative will contact each of the chapters in its district to disseminate and share information in reference to what’s happening in the region, assist as needed in chapter relations or matters while showing support from the Florida Region. (Districts include – Panhandle, Big Bend, North, Central, Bay and South)
