    2026 Fall Meeting: American Culture: Past and Present (and Future?) | September 18-19, 2026 | McClean, VA. The Philadelphia Society has a limited pool of funds to help support meeting attendance of graduate students, young faculty, and other young professionals who demonstrate interest in the intellectual renewal of a social order of free and responsible individuals, and who show promise of participating in this renewal through their future professional activities and, potentially, through future membership in The Philadelphia Society. Fellowships are competitively awarded for each meeting, and each applicant must certify that he or she does not have other sources of funding to cover registration and travel costs. Individuals who work full-time for other educational foundations, think tanks, and policy organizations should inquire about institutional reimbursement opportunities before applying for fellowship support. Limitations • An individual may be awarded fellowship support no more than three times. • Any individual who has received a fellowship but who has failed to comply fully with the terms set forth will be ineligible to apply again. Terms • Fellowship awards typically include complimentary meeting registration and may include a travel reimbursement award up to $500 (with documented receipts). Recipients are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements. • Fellowship attendees are required to submit a written report (no more than two pages) to the Executive Director of the Society within 30 days of the meeting attended. Travel reimbursements will be forfeited if no written report is received. • Please note: Fellowship attendance at Society meetings does not meet the attendance requirement for membership in the Society. Individuals must attend at least one Society meeting as a paying guest before they will qualify for nomination to membership.
