• Fishing Camp Registration (6-9 years old)

    The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana
  • Camp Details:

This 2-day fishing camp is for tribal youth between the ages of 6-9 years old. Day 1 will teach kids about basic fish ecology, aquatic ecosystems, water quality, and most importantly HOW TO FISH! We will learn how to tie a basic fishing knot, basic rigs, how to use a fishing pole, how to remove a hook from a fish, and how to properly handle and release fish. Day 1 will be held only on the reservation in the multi-purpose activity room. Day 2 will consist of a field trip either on the reservation or at a backup location in Iota (~35 mins away) where youth will apply everything they've learned to hopefully catch a fish!

    Dates: Monday, July 27th (8AM-12PM) &  Tuesday, July 28th (8AM-12PM)

Lunch will be provided, but you're welcome to send your child with their own lunch if they have preferences! Please drop off children at the Activity Room located in the Multi-Purpose Building - there will be a sign to help confirm location. You will pick your child up at the same location you dropped them off at. We will be providing transportation to all field trip destinations.

PLEASE READ: This camp requires an initial refundable deposit of $20 (cash) per child, which will be returned to the parent during child pickup on day 2 assuming the child was present for both camp days. This is to ensure purchased supplies, meals, and field trip entry fees for absent children do not go to waste.

After the submission of this registration form, you will be contacted to schedule payment to hold your child's spot for this camp via text or call.
