IASBO encourages all members to share their presentation ideas for the 2027 Conference. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your knowledge, innovative practices, and insights that can benefit your colleagues from across the state. Session topics can include: Accounting & Budgeting, HR, Finance, Facilities, School Nutrition, Transportation, Technology, Payroll, Personal Development, and Leadership.

The conference theme can be seen in the logo above: Amplify the Impact. A sub theme is: Rockin the '90's. If you would like to incorporate '90's movies & music trivia and culture into your presentations, it would be appreciated.

In addition, the research committee chairs have identified areas of interest. Please consider submitting a proposal to cover one of these topics:
Human Resources:

Public Records Request Management: Best practices and school practitioner examples
DIY Wellness for Staff: School practitioner ideas and examples for low-cost programming to help staff keep wellbeing in mind.

This conference is one of the largest annual gatherings of school business professionals in Indiana, drawing over 1,700 attendees including school business officials, industry partners, and education leaders. Accounting & Budgeting: Dealing with primarily corporation treasurers and deputy treasurer issues. Focusing on the roles and responsibilities of the treasurer position. This would include budgeting, accounting, and accounts payable & receivable issues.

Human Resources: Focusing on the various human resources issues such as collective bargaining, recruiting/hiring/ and firing of employees, teacher licensing, retirement programs, fringe benefit issues, and the various federal programs impacting HR.

School Finance: Focusing on school funding and financing issues including bond transaction and referendums. This would include school distribution formula, categorical funding, cash management, property tax issues, school budgeting and accounting

School Facilities: Focusing on the school physical plant. This would include maintenance, custodial, grounds care, safety issues, and energy management. School building construction (new and remodeling).

School Nutrition: Focusing on the school nutrition program

School Transportation: Focusing on the school Transportation Department

School Technology: Focusing on the school technology program and the infrastructure needed to support it.
