MS Science Fair Foundations
This two-day workshop will run from 9:00 - 4:30 each day with lunch included for participants. The focus is to help middle school educators navigate the science fair process. Participants will learn how Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) - Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) can be used to investigate the natural world and design solutions. This will include how to assist students in identifying a science project, doing the appropriate background research, writing the research plan, and potential data analysis ideas. Lindsay McGinnis is an 8th grade teacher at Hoosac Valley High School and has taken students to Regional and State fairs for the last three years. Dr. Ann Billetz is a professor of Biology at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and the Berkshire STEM network coordinator.
