  • 2026/27 ARIDO Committee Volunteer Terms and Conditions

I agree to serve as an ARIDO Committee volunteer and hereby consent that when engaged in ARIDO work I will always act in the best interests of the organization first and foremost above all other interests.  I agree to carry out my obligations as a volunteer to the best of my ability and to act in good faith with reasonable prudence and skill with respect to the affairs of ARIDO.

    Charter of Respect
I agree that by serving as an ARIDO volunteer I will act as a positive champion and advocate for the organization during my time in an ARIDO volunteer role by never speaking about the organization or it’s work in a tone or way that may result in a negative or harmful effect on the organization’s reputation with its members and the broader interior design community. I understand that I am expected to always conduct myself in an ethical and responsible manner, in accordance with ARIDO’s standards.

This includes abiding by ARIDO’s Charter of Respect when interacting with other volunteers, including ARIDO members and non-members, ARIDO Board, and staff.

    Confidentiality
I acknowledge that during my term as a volunteer, I will be exposed to information that is confidential and proprietary to other individuals involved and ARIDO.

Confidential information does not include information that is generally available to the public (other than as the result of improper disclosure to the public).

I understand that the unauthorized release on my behalf of any or part of such confidential information may impact decisions made by the ARIDO Board of management, result in substantial monetary damage to ARIDO or may result in damage to the reputations of ARIDO Board members, members of ARIDO and ARIDO staff and may adversely affect the credibility and integrity of ARIDO.

Accordingly, I undertake that during my term and for a period of at least six years from my last involvement as a Committee Volunteer, I will protect and respect the confidentiality or any and all ARIDO confidential information in my possession, custody or control.  I undertake that unless ARIDO has previously released confidential information to the members, another organization or to the public, I will not disclose, disseminate, reveal, or release such information in writing or verbally, to any other person outside the Committee, ARIDO Board of Directors or ARIDO Staff.

    Conflict of Interest
I understand that I shall have no conflict or incompatibility between the interests of ARIDO and the business, professional or private interests or any interests with another organization. I agree that as a volunteer I will not engage directly or indirectly in any activity that competes or conflicts with the interests of ARIDO.

For any activity in which a potential conflict of interest may arise, I hereby agree that I will declare the potential conflict of interest immediately to the Chair of the Committee. I agree that I shall not participate directly or indirectly in any discussion and shall be absent from the portion of any meeting where the matter giving rise to the potential conflict of interest is under discussion. I hereby understand that such declaration and absence shall be recorded in the minutes.

I understand that according to ARIDO’s Committee Policy, a volunteer member can be removed from their position for failing to attend three consecutive meetings without just cause during a term of the committee.

  • I acknowledge that I have read, understand, accept, and agree to the ARIDO Volunteer Terms and Conditions, and that by completing this submission form I hereby comply with them.
