Emergency Fuel Delivery is a workshop designed to engage students with a multi-faceted design challenge stemming from a dramatized scenario; The city's nuclear power plant keeps the entire grid running, and the main access to the plant has been blocked by the aftermath of a storm. Our team of young Engineers must build a bridge to serve as the backup route, and program a robot to cross the bridge to complete fuel deliveries.
Students will learn the importance of form, function & stability in structures while creating a bridge capable of holding a moving load. This activity will also cover the basics of coding, and how to program a robot with block coding. They will also learn the importance of the engineering design process, while testing and improving their bridge design and coding path.
Through these hands-on challenges, participants will be connected with like-minded peers and undergraduate engineering role models to inspire their creativity and encourage them to confidently pursue lifelong learning in STEM.
Spots are limited to 30 participants. If you have multiple children, please complete this form for each child you wish to register. Because there are limited spots available, please only register if you intend to attend all sessions.
In the event of full capacity, we encourage you to continue with registration and be placed on the waiting list. You will receive a confirmation email to confirm your registration or will be notified if you are placed on our waiting list.
