We, the undersigned, call for the cancellation of the Sandwich Stampede rodeo planned for July 2026 in Sandwich, New Hampshire.

Rodeo events inflict well-documented harm on animals — including broken bones, spinal injuries, and death — as a direct and predictable result of standard rodeo practices.

Beyond animal welfare, rodeo events present a genuine public safety risk — bulls and horses have escaped arenas and injured spectators at multiple events in recent years.

The Sandwich Stampede would set a troubling precedent as the first rodeo of its kind in our state. We urge town officials and sponsors to revoke their support for this event.
