  • Our goal is to build a more sustainable nursing profession and to elevate women’s and family health at our hospital and across the region. Nurses, APPs, and lactation consultants are taking these steps to build an effective professional organization and to advocate for a contract that includes evidence-based staffing levels, equitable and transparent compensation that rewards experience and leads the market, and a real voice in shaping professional standards at our hospital.

  • YES! I want to join my fellow Magee RNs and APPs and become a member of SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania (SEIU HCPA). I request and accept membership in SEIU HCPA and I agree to abide by the SEIU HCPA constitution and by-laws. I authorize SEIU HCPA to act as my exclusive representative in collective bargaining over wages, benefits, and terms and conditions of employment with my employer.

  • I recognize the need for a strong union and understand union dues provide the resources necessary for elevating standards of care for our patients and defending our profession at Magee and beyond. I hereby request and authorize my employer or its successor to deduct from my earnings and to pay to SEIU HCPA an amount equal to the regular monthly dues and initiation fees uniformly applicable to members of SEIU HCPA, This authorization goes into effect once we vote to approve a contract, and shall remain in effect and automatically renew from year to year unless I revoke it by sending written notice via U.S. mail to SEIU HCPA during the period of thirty (30) days before (1) the annual anniversary date of this authorization or (2) the termination date of the applicable contract between my employer and SEIU HCPA. I recognize that my agreement authorizing payroll deduction and its automatic renewal is voluntary and not a condition of employment. Contributions or gifts to SEIU are not tax deductible as charitable contributions.

  • We’ve given UPMC a deadline to reach a contract. On July 8, we will meet to review where we’re at in negotiations and, if necessary, vote on a plan of action. All nurses, APPs, and lactation consultants should make a plan to show up in person that day.
