• STAFF TRAINING PLAN

  • As a part of Texas Rising Star, I agree that I must receive at least 30 hours of training within my anniversary year focusing on professional development goals and classroom needs. Trainings must align with Core Competencies for Practitioners and CCR Minimum Standards requirements.
  • 30 clock hours of annual training must be relevant to the ages served by the early learning program
  • No more than 50% of the required annual training hours may come from self-instructional training.
  • 12 Hours must be instructor led training
  • No more than three (3) of those self-instructional hours may come from self-study training.
  • At least 6 Clock Hours in one or more of the following competencies:
    • Child growth and development
    • Age-appropriate curriculum
    • Guidance and Discipline
    • Teacher-Child Interaction
  • 1 Clock Hour Prevention, recognition, and reporting of child maltreatment (Child Abuse & Neglect)
  • 1 Clock Hour (IF provides care for children younger than 24 months of age), in shaken baby syndrome (SBS); abusive head trauma, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS); and understanding early childhood brain development.
  • (Orientation, Preservice, CPR and First Aid training, Food Handler's CACFP programmatic training and Transportation Safety and training not related to ages of children served DO NOT COUNT towards required hours.)
