    Thank you for your interest in serving at Royal Family KIDS Camp Thousand Oaks! RFKC is a week-long camp created specifically for children, ages 7-11, who have experienced foster care. Our mission is to create a week of positive memories while treating our campers like royalty. 

    Whether you're helping behind the scenes or serving directly at an event, your time makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for helping us create moments of joy, connection, and belonging for our campers.

    Additional Volunteer Opportunities
    💜 Share-What-You-Love-Workshop Leader
    Volunteer Role: Lead a fun, hands-on activity and share a hobby, talent, craft, skill, or interest with campers.
    Best For: Volunteers comfortable leading a group of children.

    💜 Errand Runner
    Volunteer Role: Help support camp throughout the week by picking up needed supplies, food, decorations, or last-minute items from stores such as Target, Costco, etc.
    Best For: Volunteers with flexible availability to drive to Ojai throughout the week!

    💜 Prayer Partner: 

    Commit to praying for our campers and volunteers all week long! 

    To serve as a PRE-CAMP "AT HOME" VOLUNTEER,(Prayer, backpack packing, organizing, nametags etc) you are not required to have complete an application, background check or training. Please contact RFKCThousandOaks@gmail.com for at home opportunities.

    We have many part time opportunities to serve at camp! On occasion, we may need some volunteers to serve on multiple days, so please select ALL opportunities that interest you. 

  • Share-What-You-Love Workshop Leader: (For those comfortable leading groups of children)

    Choose a day to share an activity: Tues-Fri- Aug 4-6, 9:30am-11am

    Do you have an idea to lead a workshop during activity time? (example: pottery, baking project, painting workshop, music class, necklace making, dance, nature walks, woodshop, etc). 

  • 👑Royal Training Day (Hospitality) Date: Saturday, June 27 Time: 8am OR 11am Location: Atmosphere Church Role/Tasks: Pick Up Breakfast Items (Bagels/Coffee/Fruit) for our 50 brave Royal Volunteers, help set up in the morning. OR Pick Up Lunch for our 50 Volunteers at 11am, bring to church and help set up. *No Interaction with Campers
  • 🎈Camper Check In Day Date: Monday, August 3rd 2026 Time: 8:30am-10:30am Location: Atmosphere Church  Role/Tasks: Set up check-in/tables, chairs, signs, activity center, snacks, etc. Greet caregivers and campers as they arrive, make them feel welcome and comfortable. Balloons and welcome signs needed! :) Assist with registration stations. Label and load camper luggage onto the bus! Wave a big farewell as the bus rolls out!
  • 📦Unpack @ Camp: Date: Sunday, August 2nd 2026 Time: 3:30pm-5:30pm Location: Ojai, CA Role/Tasks: Help Unpack UHAUL and camp supplies when we arrive at camp. (INVOLVES HEAVY LIFTING)
  • ☕Girls Tea Party  Date: Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 Time: 1:00pm-4:00pm Location: Ojai, CA Role/Tasks: To treat our girl campers royally, we have a tea party the first night of camp complete with dress-up & tea. Decorate and set up for tea party. Participate in the tea party. Assist with cleanup and breakdown.
  • 💦 Boys Water Party  Date: Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 Time: 1:00pm-4:00pm Location: Ojai, CA Role/Tasks: To help prepare an awesome party for our boys! (i.e: pirate party, water activity, treasure hunt, etc.)Decorate and set up for party. Participate in the party. Assist with cleanup and breakdown.
  • 🎂Everybody's Birthday Party Date: Wednesday, August 5th, 2026 Time: 3:00pm-7:30pm Location: Ojai, CA Role/Tasks: For many of our campers, RFK Camp is the only time their birthdays are celebrated, so we make this a very special occasion. Assist with set up & decorating! Help maintain certain games/booths/activities, celebrate kiddos alongside our team. Tear down.
  • 🌟Royal Banquet & Talent Show "RFKC's GOT TALENT" Date: Thursday, August 7th, 2026 Time: 3:00pm-7:30pm Location: Ojai, CA Role/Tasks: Help create a beautiful banquet fit for royalty! Assist with set up & decorating a royal banquet style dinner. Assist with pouring sparkling cider,  help run photo area, attend dinner, help tear down.
  • 📦Camp Pack Up Date: August 3, 2026                                                                                    Time: 6pm-9pm Location: Campground Roles: Heavy Lifting, Loading, Tear Down  Spots Available: 5
  • 🚚Volunteer Surprise Delivery:  Surprise our Amazing Volunteers with a nice meal or treats for the break room at camp: (salad bar, sandwiches, coffee, healthy snacks etc) (for 50 volunteers)
  • 🏰 Welcome Home Volunteer Lunch Date: Friday, August 7th, 2026 Time: 12pm-2pm  Location: Atmosphere Church  Role/Tasks:Set up for a special welcome home luncheon for our amazing volunteer team! Assist caterer, serve food as needed, provide welcoming atmosphere for our full time volunteers upon their return. *No interaction with campers
  • 💜PRAYER PARTNER: Date: August 2-7 Role: Commit to praying for our campers, our volunteers, and our camp experience throughout the week. You will receive an email with a cabin group to pray for all week long!

  • TRAUMA INFORMED POLICY:

    Thank you for volunteering to help with Royal Family KIDS. This is a great opportunity to help foster children in our community.Our full-time volunteers have gone through extensive training and background checks for the safety of the children, and to make sure they can adequately handle the needs of the children all week at camp. Additionally, being a faith-based organization, we ask that our full-time volunteers are active in their Christian faith. As a part-time volunteer, we want you to know there are a few essential things that you need to be aware of, and that there are some limitations in how you participate because of your part-time status.Our goal is for the children to be safe and have a life-changing experience at camp. Here are some things you need to know:
