COOPER'S CORNER PET SERVICES
Client Welcome Pack & Terms and Conditions
Version 2.0 | Effective 7 June 2026
1. Definitions
CCPS means Cooper's Corner Pet Services. Client means the owner or authorised keeper of the pet.
2. Acceptance of Terms
These terms are accepted upon signature. No booking is confirmed until a welcome meeting and assessment have been completed.
3. Client Responsibilities
Clients must provide accurate information regarding health, behaviour, medication, exercise requirements, diet, veterinary history and emergency contacts. Any changes must be reported immediately.
4. Health & Welfare Requirements
Dogs must be appropriately vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas and ticks. Clients must notify CCPS immediately if a dog develops or is exposed to a contagious condition including Kennel Cough, Parvovirus, Distemper, fleas, worms or infectious skin diseases.
5. Feeding & Exercise Safety
Dogs should not be fed within two hours of vigorous exercise wherever reasonably possible. Clients must notify CCPS if their dog has eaten within two hours of collection.
6. Behaviour & Temperament Disclosure
Clients must disclose aggression, reactivity, anxiety, escape behaviour, livestock chasing, excessive barking, transport issues and other behavioural concerns. Failure to disclose may result in immediate termination.
7. Dog Walking Services
Dogs are walked individually or in carefully matched small groups. CCPS does not operate large pack walks. Group sizes are typically limited to suitable compatible dogs, usually 2 to 4 but can be up to 6 dogs after dynamic risk assessment. Walks are tailored to age, fitness, temperament, health and environmental factors.
8. Off Lead Exercise
Off-lead exercise requires owner consent and remains at CCPS discretion. Safety and welfare considerations will always take precedence.
9. Transport
Where required, dogs may be transported safely and securely to suitable walking locations.
10. Veterinary Emergencies & Consent
If the Client cannot be contacted, CCPS may provide emergency first aid and seek veterinary treatment where necessary. Where appropriate, CCPS may use an alternative veterinary provider. All related costs remain the Client’s responsibility. Any first aid given will be within the provider’s training and qualifications.
11. Liability & Risk
CCPS will take all reasonable precautions for pet welfare and safety. Outdoor exercise and interaction with other animals carry inherent risks. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for negligence where prohibited by law.
12. Keys, Access & Property
Keys will be stored securely and used only for agreed services. Failure to provide access may result in the service being charged in full. The property must be in a clean and suitable state before any pet sit. All cameras must be declared in advance. Cameras in private areas, including bedrooms and bathrooms, or the use of hidden cameras, will result in the immediate termination of services. Property will be treated with care and respect.
13. Visitors & Scheduled Maintenance
The Client must declare in advance any expected visitors, contractors, cleaners, tradespeople or scheduled maintenance appointments during the service period. CCPS reserves the right to amend, suspend or decline services where such access may affect safety, security, animal welfare or the proper delivery of the service.
14. Insurance
CCPS maintains specialist pet business insurance including Public Liability, Employers Liability, Injury to Animals Cover, Loss of Keys Cover and Legal Expenses Cover.
15. Data Protection & GDPR
Personal information will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and retained only where necessary for business, insurance, regulatory and legal purposes.
16. Photography & Marketing
Photographs and videos may be used for marketing purposes unless the Client opts out in writing.
17. Legal Requirements
Dogs must be microchipped and wear legally required identification. Clients must disclose any restrictions under Dangerous Dogs legislation.
18. Payment Terms
Payment is due weekly or monthly as agreed. Services may be suspended where accounts remain unpaid for more than seven days.
19. Cancellation Policy
Walks cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at 100%. Walks cancelled with 24 to 48 hours’ notice are charged at 50%.
For pet sitting, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure the dates. A further 50% is due 14 days before the pet sit starts, with the remaining balance due at the start of the service. A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required to cancel a pet sit. If less than 14 days’ notice is given, 25% of the remaining total cost will be charged. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee, and cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
20. Complaints Procedure
Clients should notify CCPS of any concerns within 24 hours of service delivery.
21. Force Majeure
CCPS shall not be liable for delays caused by severe weather, illness, road closures, vehicle breakdowns or other events beyond reasonable control.
22. Termination
Either party may terminate services with one week's notice. CCPS may terminate immediately where safety, welfare or payment concerns arise.
