ABOUT DANZA PHOTO SERIES:

This is a portrait series documenting members of Danza communities who preserve rituals and practices that date back to pre-colonial times. Despite histories of colonization, these groups continue to sustain cultural knowledge through dance, spirituality, and collective practice. The portraits honor their dedication and connection to ancestry. Esta es una serie de retratos que documenta a miembros de las comunidades de Danza que preservan rituales y prácticas que datan de la época precolonial. A pesar de las historias de colonización, estos grupos continúan sosteniendo el conocimiento cultural a través de la danza, la espiritualidad y la práctica colectiva. Los retratos honran su dedicación y conexión con la ascendencia.

• Participants are encouraged to bring a meaningful object, such as a photograph, textile, or personal item connected to their history, identity, and cultural memory. Se anima a los participantes a llevar un objeto significativo, como una fotografía, un textil o un objeto personal relacionado con su historia, identidad y memoria cultural.
• Guests are invited to leave handwritten reflections, adding their voices to the evolving archive displayed on the gallery walls. Se invita a los invitados a dejar reflexiones manuscritas, añadiendo sus voces al archivo en evolución que se exhibe en las paredes de la galería.

I, the undersigned, grant Violeta Alvarez Photography/Casa de Cultura and its legal representatives the full and unrestricted right to photograph me and to use, publish, and distribute these images for any lawful purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, use in illustration, promotion, art, editorial, advertising, trade, and any other medium or purpose deemed appropriate by Violeta Alvarez Photography.

The Participant hereby grants the Organizer the irrevocable right and permission to use the Participant's image and likeness in any and all media, now or hereafter known, including but not limited to promotional and advertising materials. This grant includes the right to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute the images and likeness for any lawful purpose.

Illustration: Use of photos in books, articles, or visual materials.

Promotion: Use in events, social media, or branding efforts.

Art: Use in exhibitions, galleries, museums, portfolio, artist’s website, online shop, or creative projects.

Editorial: Use in magazines, newspapers, or news stories.

Advertising: Use in paid promotions or marketing campaigns.

Trade: Use in business contexts such as product packaging, brochures, business websites, or other commercial materials.

 

I understand that the images may be edited, retouched, cropped, or combined with other content as needed. I waive the right to inspect or approve the final images or their use. I understand that no compensation is due now or in the future for the use of these images.

I release and hold harmless Violeta Alvarez Photography/Casa de Cultura and its legal representatives, licensees, and assigns from any, and all claims, demands, or causes of action, including but not limited to claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, or violation of any right of publicity or moral rights, arising out of or in connection with the use of the images.

By signing below, I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to grant this release. This agreement is binding upon me, my heirs, legal representatives, and assigns.

This event will be recorded and broadcast live. By entering the premises, all attendees acknowledge and consent to the use of their image, voice, and likeness in photography, video recordings, and livestreams, which may be used, reproduced, and distributed by: Violeta Alvarez Photography/Casa de Cultura for promotional, informational, or other lawful purposes. Attendance constitutes a waiver and release of any claims regarding the use of such media. If you do not wish to be recorded or photographed, please refrain from entering the designated filming area.
