2026 Queen Cotton Entry
  • On behalf of Louisiana Cotton Festival, we are hereby soliciting CONTESTANTS for the 71st Annual Louisiana Cotton Queen’s Coronation to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Ville Platte, La.

     

    All Cotton Contestants must report to the Ville Platte Civic Center (704 N. Soileau St, Ville Platte, LA 70586), on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Check in will begin at 1:00 pm. DO NOT BE LATE! Please arrive in your interview suit or interview dress with hair and makeup done.  Interviews will start promptly at 1:30 pm.  

     

    If a contestant withdraws from the pageant after their application has been accepted or needs to leave for any reason, there will be a $50.00 cancelation fee and a notification sent to their sponsor.

     

                     Enclosed is an entry form, personal data sheet, and rules & regulations for the 2026 Cotton Queen’s Coronation. In addition to this form, we require a sponsorship/bid letter from an organization who nominates you to compete. This letter must come from a civic organization (ex: Lions Club, Rotary Club, fair or festival board etc.) and it must be signed by an organization board member and the letter must be on official organization letterhead. Please return all forms to the addresses below by, September 1, 2026 (must be digitally submitted) along with the $110.00 non-refundable entry fee, bid letter and head/shoulder photograph. The photograph will be featured in the local newspaper and can be black/white or colored. Checks or money orders should be made payable to: LA Cotton Festival.  Online payments are available at www.Louisianacottonfestival.com

  • Rules and Regulations / Entry Form

     1.    The contestant must be a single woman between the ages of 18 (the day of pageant) and 23 years of age, not older than 23 years of age on January 1, 2026. She must be a resident of Louisiana, have been born female, must not have been married and is expected to remain single during her reign of one year if chosen Queen Cotton. She must never have born a child or be pregnant during her reign or have ever been charged with any crime.

     2.    The contestant must have been selected by a recognized organization, festival, town, city, or community to be eligible for the title of Queen Cotton. We require a sponsorship/bid letter from an organization who nominates you to compete. This letter must come from a civic organization (ex: Lions Club, Rotary Club, fair or festival board etc.) and it must be signed by an organization board member and the letter must be on official organization letterhead.

     3.    If the contestant is chosen Queen Cotton, she understands that she is asked to sign a Cotton Queen’s contract. She must agree not to enter any other festival while holding this title nor enter any other pageant system, except the LAFF Pageant contest while under contract.

     4.    The contestant crowned Queen Cotton must be available to travel during the year of her reign to represent the Louisiana Cotton Festival at various festivals & fairs. She will receive no salary for such travel and must stay in contact with the Cotton secretary throughout her year for guidance and assignments.

     5.    The Cotton Queen will: attend the Mardi Gras Ball in Washington D.C, LAFF Pageant and many festivals throughout Louisiana.

     6.    If chosen queen, she will wear the “signature” Cotton crown, train, and mantle throughout her reign and pass it down to her successor at the end of her reign. She will be responsible for any loss or broken stones, or damage to the crown, train, mantle, and scepter.

     7.    If the contestant crowned Queen Cotton should marry, become pregnant, be charged with any crime or have her crown taken away during her reign, she would relinquish her crown to the 1st runner up.

     8.    You are NOT allowed to have a hair or makeup person with you on pageant day. Please come interview and stage ready. You are allowed to change your own hair and makeup if desired with no help from an outside source.

     I understand the above Louisiana Cotton Contest Rules and Regulations and Agree to abide by them.

    The LA Cotton Festival has my permission to use the information along with my photograph for publicity purposes. I understand that the festival, the town of Ville Platte, or and the Louisiana Cotton Festival Board is not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings or any accident or illness, which may occur during my visit in Ville Platte. I understand that I will dress and behave in an appropriate manner. My sponsor will be notified in the event of inappropriate behavior during my stay while attending our festival. I also understand that I am NOT allowed to leave with anyone until after the parade on Sunday.
