Pursuit

• When is the last time I spent intentional, focused, uninterrupted time with God when I didn't need anything from Him?
• When is the last time I read the Bible simply because I wanted to hear God's voice?
• How much of my connection with God depends on someone else creating the opportunity for it?

Dependence

• When is the last time I prayed for an extended period of time (longer than 30 minutes)?
• What issues of life have I not invited God into first?
• What burden(s) am I carrying that I have not genuinely surrendered?
• If God withdrew every blessing—including the things that bring me comfort and pleasure—and never did another thing for me, would His presence be enough?

Presence

• When is the last time I heard God’s voice directly? What did I hear and how have I responded?
• When was the last time I sat quietly before God with no agenda?
• What distracts me most from being present with God?
• Am I more comfortable talking to God or listening for Him?
• What emotions most often accompany my time with God?
• When is the last time I simply enjoyed being with God?

Hunger

• What excites me more than time with God?
• What do I make time for regardless of how busy I am?
• What receives my best energy, attention, and affection?
• If someone examined my calendar and spending habits, what would they conclude I love most?

Delight

• Do I desire God Himself or primarily what He can provide? 
• When I experience excitement or success, where does my heart turn first?
• When I experience pain or disappointment, where does my heart turn first?
• What am I asking God to give me that has become more important than God Himself?

Obedience

• Is there something God has already asked me to do that I have not done?
• When was the last time obedience to God cost me something?
• What area(s) of my life am I keeping off-limits to God?
• What truth(s) from Scripture do I know but struggle to believe in a way that shows in my actions?

Private Devotion

• When is the last time I worshiped God when no one was present?
• When is the last time I prayed long enough to move beyond my prayer list?
• When is the last time I fasted simply to seek God?
• When is the last time I confessed sin to God without excusing it? 
• When was the last time I took inventory of how I may have fallen short and repented of my sin?
• When is the last time I sat with Scripture long enough for it to confront me?

Waiting

• How comfortable am I waiting on God when He has not yet answered, moved, or provided direction?
• When is the last time I intentionally waited before God without asking for anything or trying to accomplish anything?
• Am I comfortable simply being with God, even when He seems silent? Do I remain close to Him or begin looking elsewhere for answers?
• What has my waiting revealed about my trust in Him?
• Am I willing to wait for God's timing, even when I don't understand it?
• Am I willing to wait long enough to hear what God wants to say, or do I move on when an answer doesn't come quickly?
• When is the last time I set aside time simply to wait on God?

Voice Recognition

• When is the last time I sensed God speaking to me personally through Scripture, prayer, conviction, circumstances, or the prompting of the Holy Spirit?
• How confident am I in recognizing God's voice?
• What makes it difficult for me to discern God's voice?
• Am I creating enough space in my life to hear from God?
• Do I expect God to speak directly to me, or do I primarily rely on others to tell me or confirm what He is saying?
• When God speaks, how quickly do I respond?
• What is something God has been saying to me repeatedly?
• Is there an area where I have stopped or been slow to listen because I do not like what God is saying?
• If someone asked me what God has been speaking to me lately, what would be my answer?

If No One Else Was There...

• If there were no church service this week, how would I pursue God?
• If there were no worship music, how would I worship?
• If there were no devotional or guidance from a spiritual leader, what would guide my time with God?
• If there were no pastor, teacher, or spiritual leader speaking into my life, how would I seek God's wisdom?
• If there were no pastors, teachers, authors, podcasts, devotionals, or spiritual leaders speaking into my life, how would I know God was speaking to me?
• If every spiritual support system disappeared tomorrow, what would remain of my relationship with God?
• Have I learned to hear God's voice directly, or do I primarily hear about God's voice through others?
