  • Rural Queers Support Group

    Tuesday, July 7, 7p ET / 4p PT, Donation-based peer support space
  • A non-carceral, peer-led space for people who are LGBTQ2S+ and are living in spaces with relatively minimal community support for marginalized groups. Being marginalized in any location that does not create space for that community can be incredibly difficult to navigate. This space exists to process the emotions surrounding this experience and carve out a space and community for us where none may exist.

Facilitator: Skylxr (they/he/fae) is a psychology student who seeks to advocate for marginalized voices in the mental health system, as they are so often overlooked. They hold multiple queer identities and other marginalized identities such as being neurodivergent, disabled and chronically ill, mentally ill, and chronically suicidal. He also was born in and lives in a state in the United States that, over his lifetime, has become increasingly hostile to marginalized identities, especially queer folks. Fae has dedicated a large portion of faer time advocating for queer rights in faer state and has fostered multiple community and activism spaces dedicated to continuing that work.
