Applications are open through July 15, 2026.

Award recipients will be announced August 1-7, 2026.

Completed projects submitted for recognition must be received by September 8, 2026 to be considered for the Environmental Excellence Celebration awards.

Paint Oklahoma Beautiful provides recycled outdoor latex paint. Latex paint requires a clean, properly prepared surface to stick, especially on metal. On unprepared surfaces, it will peel and flake quickly.

A ready-to-paint surface has been:
- Cleaned of dirt, grease, mold, and loose or flaking paint
- Sanded or scraped where needed to create a smooth base
- Primed if the surface is bare wood, metal, or masonry
If your site is not ready to paint at the time of your application, that's okay, but it must be fully prepared before paint is delivered.

Paintable Surface Area

Paintable surface area is not the same as your building's square footage.
To find your paintable surface area:
1. Measure the height and width of each wall face you plan to paint.
2. Multiply height × width for each wall.
3. Add those totals together.
4. Do not subtract for doors or windows.
Applications that do not include correct surface area measurements will not be considered.
