The Southern Zone Age Group Championship meet will be held in Orlando, Florida. Travel days will be July 28- Aug 2nd. The cost for selected participants will be approximately $1,100.00, following a $50 application fee. This includes transportation, accommodation and all meals. Financial assistance may be available in certain cases.
Eight athletes from each gender will be selected based on the criteria below. Swimmers that achieve a Summer Junior National time standard more than 10 days out from the Zone meet will be disqualified from participating in the meet. There will be two alternate swimmers announced in case this happens.
Georgia Swimming AG Zones Selection Policy
Georgia Swimming will take a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 12 athletes in each age group and gender (11-12 Girls, 11-12 Boys, 13-14 Girls, 13-14 Boys) to the 2025 Southern Zone Age Group Meet.
Athletes will be selected by the following priority, in each age group:
1) Athletes with “A” Cuts.
● If there are more than 12 athletes with “A” cuts in an age group, they will be ranked in order by Number of “A” Cuts x 7, plus the Number of “B” Cuts x 4, plus the Number of “C” Cuts x 1, and the top 12 athletes will be taken. In the case of a tie for 12th place, the athlete with the most “A” cuts will be taken, and if that does not resolve the tie, the athletes with the most “B” cuts will be taken. If it is still a tie, the athlete with the highest Power Point swim of their “A” Cuts will take precedence..
2) “B” Cuts.
● If the 9 spots are not filled by athletes with “A” Cuts, Athletes with “B” Cuts will be taken until 9 athletes are committed to the trip. - Athletes will be ranked in order by Number of “B” Cuts x 4, plus the Number of “C” Cuts x 1, and the athletes will fill the spots to the 9th spot. In the case of a tie for 9th place, the athlete with the most “B” cuts will be taken, and if that does not resolve the tie the athlete with the highest Power Point swim of their “B” Cuts will take precedence..
3) “C” Cuts.
● If the 9 spots are not filled by athletes with “A” and “B” Cuts, Athletes with “C” Cuts will be taken until 9 athletes are committed to the trip. - Athletes will be ranked in order by Number of “C” Cuts and the athletes will fill the spots to the
9th spot. In the case of a tie for 9th place, the athlete with the highest Power Point swim of their “C” Cuts will take precedence..
4) If the selection priorities above fail to get an age group to 9 athletes, there will be no other athletes in that group, the team will send less than 9.

Swimmers with a disability. We welcome all athletes with a disability to apply for Zones. The Georgia Zone Team has up to 6 spots available.
ZONE selection process for the differently abled athlete will include up to 3 female 11-18 yrs old differently abled athletes and 3 male 11-18 yrs old differently abled athletes. Swimmers’ disability must satisfy the definition of a disability as outlined in USA Swimming Rules and Regulations: a permanent physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. Age Group Chair and at the request of Age Group Chair - the Disability Committee Chair may help with identifying qualifying athletes based off of participation in Ga Swimming LSC Sanctioned LCM Swim Meets.
