Keep Mesquite Beautiful is excited to welcome our community to the Mesquite Arts Center on July 11th for Monarch Fest! Below you will find informaton pertaining to the event contest being offered this year.
An individual entry form for each entry to a contest must be completed.
All food entries must be received at the Monarch Fest! Information Booth by 10:00 AM. Entries must be in disposable packaging and labeled with contestant name.
Butterfly Costume Contest entries must be checked in and lined up at the front stage no later than 12:00 PM.
Talent Contest entries must be checked in and lined up by 1:00 PM at the Black Box theatre.
Homemade Cookie Contest
- Cookie contest is open to anyone.
- Entry fee is $10.00 per entry.
- All cookies must be homemade.
- Contestants must supply a minimum of one dozen cookies and recipe. (recipe will not be shared)
- Cookies will be judged on appearance, taste, and texture by 3-5 judges.
- Cookie entries must be labeled and turned in by 10:00 a.m. at the Info Table in the MAC Lobby.
- Prizes will be awarded for: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place at the Front Stage at 12:00 PM.
Homemade Salsa Contest
- Salsa contest is open to anyone.
- Entry fee is $10.00 per entry.
- All salsa must be homemade.
- Contestants must supply a minimum of one pint (16 oz) of salsa and recipe. (recipe will not be shared)
- Salsa will be judged on appearance, taste, and texture by 3-5 judges.
- Salsa entries must be labeled and turned in by 10:00 a.m. at the Info Table in the MAC Lobby.
- Prizes will be awarded for: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place at the Front Stage at 12:00 PM.

- Entry fee is $10.00 per entry.
- Costumes can be homemade or store bought.
- Costumes will be judged by crowd support.
- Contestants must check in at the Info Table in the MAC Lobby to receive their number and lined up at the front stage by 12:00 PM.
- Prizes will be awarded for: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place at the Front Stage at time of contest.
Talent Contest
- Talent contest is open to anyone.
- Entry fee is $10.00 per entry.
- Entries must be received by Thursday, July 9 at 5:00PM.
- Talents must not exceed 3 minutes.
- Cuts of music are due at time of registration. Please upload file below.
- Talents will be judged by a panel of judges and crowd support.
- Contestants must check in at the Info Table in the MAC Lobby to receive their number and lined up at the black box by 1:00 PM.
- Prizes will be awarded for: 1st - $100, 2nd - $50, & 3rd - $25 Place at the conclusion of the contest.
