一年一度的僧寶節又將來臨，佛光山開山祖師星雲大師，恪遵佛制，定為孝道月，以供僧功德表達孝親之意。大師對供僧的原則為：不供養一餐，要供養全年；不供養少人，要供養多眾；不只供養現在，更要供養未來。
為感謝護法信徒捐獻道糧，長期供養僧眾，本講堂於農曆七月份，每日早晚恭誦《地藏菩薩本願功德經》；並於國曆8月23日(星期日) 上午10:00至下午5:00 (上、中、下卷)舉辦「地藏法會暨供僧道糧總回向」，所有功德回向各位護法信徒之現生父母延年益壽，過往先靈上升佛國，屆時歡迎闔府蒞寺禮佛，同霑法益。
The annual Sangha Day is approaching once again. In accordance with the Buddha’s teachings, Fo Guang Shan founder Venerable Master Hsing Yun designated the seventh lunar month as Filial Piety Month, encouraging devotees to express gratitude and filial devotion through the merit of offering support to the Sangha.
Venerable Master Hsing Yun taught the principles of Sangha offering as follows:
“Do not make an offering for only one meal—make offerings for the entire year; not to only a few monastics—but to the whole Sangha; not only for the present—but also for the future.”
To express gratitude to all Dharma protectors and devotees for their long-term support and offerings that sustain the Sangha, Fo Guang Shan Dallas Temple will respectfully recite The Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra every morning and evening throughout the seventh lunar month.
In addition, on Sunday, August 23, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the temple will hold the Ksitigarbha Dharma Service and Grand Merit Dedication for Sangha Offerings (including recitation of all three volumes of the sutra).
All merits generated from the Dharma service will be dedicated to the well-being and longevity of the parents of our Dharma protectors and devotees, and to praying that departed loved ones may be reborn in the Buddha’s Pure Land.
