Webster County Fair Queen/King Contest Rules:
- Each contestant must be 16 years of age and not more than 21 years of age on the first day of the 2026 State Fair.
- Contestants must never have been married.
- The county fair queen & king must reside in Webster County. The only exception: she or he must reside in an adjoining county if the majority of her activities are in Webster County.
- Each contestant must be an active member of at least one service organization in her community such as a church group, Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA, etc.

- Two Identical billfold size photos (Head and shoulder pose) must be submitted with your entry form [not needed if uploaded to this form].
- Contestant is responsible for locating a vehicle and driver to drive them through local parades. Dates will be provided by the Webster County Fair Board.
- Judging date is Monday, July 13, 2025, along with a dinner before interviews. Announcement and crowning ceremonies will take place Wednesday evening, July 15, 2025.
- Judging criteria for both the County and State levels are as follows
- Charm & Poise
- Personality, Attitude, Appearance, and Awareness
- Leadership and Citizenship-Contribution to Community
- Overall Appearance, Charm, Poise
- 10. Contest decisions are announced by judges and are final. There will be planned activities for the King and Queen Candidates during the Webster County Fair.
- Entry forms for Queen Contestant nominations must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2026 or hand delivered to the Webster County Extension office. Two identical billfold size head and shoulder photos must be included with the completed entry and returned to Sara Scharf, 1851 8th Avenue N. Fort Dodge, IA 50501 or email at sarascharf20@gmail.com
- 12. If the winner is crowned knowing he or she cannot stay throughout the Fair, he or she must forfeit her title and all awards associated with the title to the 1st Runner-Up. He or she may then accept the title and awards of 1st Runner-Up.
Addtional Queen Contest Rules:
- Only the County Fair winner will be eligible to represent Webster County at the State Fair Queen Contest. (Alternates will be considered in order of selection in the event the Queen is unable to participate.)
- The winner must fully participate in all activities of the State Fair judging competition. (There will be no approval given for schedule changes during the State Fair judging.) YOU MUST ATTEND THE STATE FAIR TUESDAY, AUGUST 11- SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH
