    This form is for contributors of all kinds: people with game development backgrounds, science backgrounds, etc.

  • Provide a list of your niches, skills, and relevant experience. "General" is fine but try to highlight your strengths or areas you feel like focusing on as a Climate Jam mentor.

    For Game Development mentors, include specific game engines, coding languages, software, hardware, team roles, genres, and non-digital formats of note.

    All of the options below can be selected by people with game development, science, or other backgrounds unless otherwise stated.

  • How do you want to contribute to Climate Jam 2026?*
  • Team Mentor

  • Team Mentor: Provide game development guidance, advice, and troubleshooting for a jam team.

    • Learn more about Team Mentor responsibilities 
    • Minimum commitment: Communicate with your assigned team at the beginning of each sprint and at least twice a week. 

      More frequent communication is encouraged. More hands-on assistance is allowed, but interns are intended to take the lead. Unless stated otherwise, the interns themselves are responsible for managing their teams and developing their projects.

      You will be assigned a team of about 6 game design interns who will work together remotely. Discord text and video channels are provided, but teams and mentors are encouraged to find the online collaboration tools that work best for them.

  • Pitch a Topic or Project Idea

  • Pitch a Topic or Project Idea: Pitch a specific subject matter or concept, then work with a jam team to make a game based on your pitch.

    • Learn more about Pitching a Topic or Project Idea 
    • Use this form to pitch a specific subject matter or topic area for a team of interns to base a Climate Jam game around, this may include a general idea of the kind of game you imagine for your topic.

      Alternatively, you may pitch a particular gimmick, concept, mechanic, unique platform, genre, etc. for a team of interns to make a Climate Jam game around. 

      Minimum commitment: Submit your pitch via the form. Introduce your topic or concept and relevant resources to your team at the beginning of Climate Jam. Communicate with your team at least once a week to help them effectively integrate and expand on your pitch.

      More frequent communication is encouraged, especially during Sprints 1 and 2 as your team workshops the concept. More hands-on assistance is allowed, but interns are intended to take the lead. Unless stated otherwise, the interns themselves are responsible for managing their teams and developing their projects.

  • Present a Session: Present a live or pre-recorded video session on a topic or resource relevant to Climate Jam 2026’s themes and goals, including climate solutions, messaging, game development, specific science topics, etc.

    • Minimum commitment: Present a video session (15 minutes to an hour) that is related to Climate Jam’s themes and goals. Either during a live Zoom session, pre-recorded for this event, or by sharing a video you’ve made previously.

      Having a Q/A period at the end of your session or responding to questions on Discord is encouraged but optional.

      You may choose a topic now or we can work with you to find an appropriate topic. 

      Please keep in mind that most sessions will need to be presented in the first weeks of the jam (including the pre-jam period) to be of most use to the jammers.

  • Discord Mentor

  • Discord Mentor: Answer questions and provide advice on Climate Jam’s Discord server. This can be general or for a particular topic or specialty.

    • Minimum commitment: Check Discord regularly to reply to questions asynchronously or schedule “office hours” for text or video chat conversations on Discord.

      You can be listed as a Science Mentor, Game Development Mentor, or have a more specific focus.

      You are not required to be available for every week of Climate Jam.

  • Share Resources

  • Share Resources: If you have any other resources to share with our jammers related to Climate Jam’s goals and themes, climate solutions, message games, game development, science topics, etc. you can provide them in this form or later on Discord.

  • For each resource you are providing, we ask that you include a link and a way to identify the kind of resource it is, such as:

  • Playtesting

  • Playtesting: Playtest the projects throughout the jam.

    • Minimum commitment: Playtest and provide feedback for Climate Jam projects throughout the development process.

      You are encouraged to provide feedback on projects even early in the jam, when there's materials to review but nothing yet playable.

      You are not required to be available for every week of Climate Jam. You are not required to provide feedback for every team that makes a request.

  • Panelist: Provide feedback for jam teams during a live mid-jam show-and-tell video session.

    • Minimum commitment: Attend at least 1 hour block of the show-and-tell video session, watch the team presentations, and provide live feedback.

      We need both science and game development experts on the panel. The show-and-tell session will be scheduled between July 15th and 22nd.

  • Judge / Anthology

  • Judge / Anthology: Review the final jam projects, rank by category, and help determine the Climate Solutions Anthology selections.

    • Learn more about Judge and Anthology Reviewer responsibilities 
    • Minimum commitment: Play and review at least 4 final Climate Jam submissions and rate them on predetermined metrics both for jam awards and Climate Solutions Anthology inclusion between August 10th and August 17th.

      We encourage you to rate as many entries as you have time for. Judges may be invited to write a short statement on the top selected games.

      Note: We will only share the top few games in each category with the jammers, not a complete ranking.

      The Climate Solutions Anthology is a project that will include multiple Climate Jam games as one project to be released on Steam.
