Music Box Session info dump - please read!
WHAT?
Music Box Sessions are our weekly studio sessions that are recorded, filmed and shared on the EC Music social media channels.
WHEN?
Thursdays at 1:30pm.
WHERE?
The recording studio at The Music Box - Edinburgh College, Sighthill Campus
WHY?
The sessions are a great opportunity to gain recording experience and get music you've been working on professionally recorded for submissions, social media, friends and family, or potential venues and promoters.
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
At least one member of the act must be a currently enrolled Edinburgh College Music student. All styles and formats are welcome – classical, pop, jazz, rock, metal, trad, prog, blues, opera, ensembles, bands, soloists and more.
BEFORE YOU SIGN UP
Please come prepared and well-rehearsed. Sessions are limited to three takes, and pieces should be around 3–5 minutes long. If your piece is longer than 5 minutes, we may not be able to accomodate your session.
Music Box Sessions are not a selection process – if you sign up for an available date, your session is confirmed. By signing up, you agree to attend, arrive on time and be ready to perform. If you can no longer make your session, please let us know as soon as possible so the slot can be offered to another student.
SESSION LIMITS
You can sign up for more than one session, but no more than three across the academic year. Please try to spread your bookings throughout the year to ensure as many students as possible have the opportunity to take part.
