• World Assembly Student Volunteer Application

  • Please review the following dates and time requirements:

    • Orientation Weekend: Friday, 8th January (3:00 pm) - Sunday, 10th January (3:00 pm)
    • 2 hour meeting each month (in person or online) - exact date/time determined locally
    • Dedicate at least two hours a month to individual tasks/training from January - June 2027
    • World Assembly: Tuesday, 22nd June  – Thursday, 1st July 2027 (5:00 pm)
    • Volunteer Debrief: Monday, 30th August 2027 (before Equip) - as a volunteer with WA students will receive a complimentary camping place

  • Part 5: Referees

    To accompany your application, we ask that you provide us with 2 referees who, preferrably, have known you for at least two years. Please check with your referees they are happy to give references before completing this form.
  • Church referee - this can be a church leader/elder/person in leadership of the current church you attend. If you're at university, this should ideally be your university church. 

    Personal referee - this can be a friend, employer, work colleague etc. They should be able to comment on your character and suitability for volunteering. They should not be someone else who has/is applying to be a volunteer. Please indicate the context in which you are known to them.

    Do not use family members, current CUI staff or Formation workers as referees.

  • Part 6: Health & Accommodation

    The next few questions are asked so that we can understand if there's anything we need to do to help facilitate you serving as a volunteer. Please provide as much detail as appropriate.

  • Part 8: Financial Commitment

    We do not want finances to be a barrier to participation but we are asking volunteers to help contribute to the costs of the volunteer programme outlined below.
    • €700/£640: MINIUMUM FUNDRAISING (including €100/£90 deposit to confirm participation, due 20th December 2026) to cover the cost of your accommodation and meals at DCU while serving at World Assembly, due by 1st May 2027.
    • €900/£800: TOTAL FUNDRAISING TARGET covers all programme costs; equal to half of the full cost (2200 USD) for delegates to attend, due by 1st July 2027.

    CUI will provide training and materials to support volunteers in the fundraising process.
