  • Welcome to Northeast Ohio Working Dogs! We are excited to have you train with us. To keep training productive, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, please review and follow the guidelines below.

  •  Drop-In Fee

     $65 per dog/handler team

     General Expectations

     •Please arrive on time and ready to train.
    Be respectful of club members, helpers, decoys, and fellow handlers.
    Safety is our top priority. Any unsafe handling of dogs or equipment may result in being asked to leave training.

     

     

     

     

    Dog Management

     • No Excessive Barking in your car

    •Dogs must remain crated in your vehicle unless actively working or instructed otherwise by club staff.
    •Do not allow your dog to roam the training grounds.
    •Maintain control of your dog at all times.
    •Keep appropriate distance from other dogs and working teams.
    •If your dog is reactive, aggressive, or requires additional space, please communicate this before training begins.

     Clean Up After Your Dog

     •Pick up all waste immediately.
    Bring your own poop bags and dispose of waste properly.
    Please be respectful of the training field and surrounding property.
    *Leaving waste behind may result in being asked not to return.*

     Working Dogs on the Field 

     •Do not approach dogs that are actively training.
    •Do not distract handlers, decoys, or dogs while they are working.
    •Wait for permission before entering the field or training area.
    Spectators and non working dogs must remain clear of active training setups.

     Equipment

     •Use training equipment responsibly and safely.
    •If you are unfamiliar with a piece of equipment, ask for assistance before using it.
    •Any corrections or training methods deemed unsafe by club leadership may result in removal from training.

     Training Environment

     Northeast Ohio Working Dogs is committed to maintaining a positive, drama free environment focused on learning and developing better working dogs.
    Respectful discussion and questions are welcome.
    Harassment, gossip, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

     

  • LIABILITY WAIVER & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

     By attending, participating in, observing, or otherwise being present at any Northeast Ohio Working Dogs training event, drop-in training day, seminar, workshop, or club function, participants acknowledge and understand that working dog training and dog sport activities inherently involve risks that cannot be completely eliminated.

     These risks include, but are not limited to:

    • Dog bites, scratches, and other injuries caused by dogs.

    • Injuries resulting from slips, falls, uneven terrain, obstacles, equipment, training blinds, jumps, or other field conditions.

    • Injuries sustained while handling, transporting, restraining, or training dogs.

    • Property damage caused by dogs or training activities.

    • Interactions with other handlers, dogs, spectators, decoys, helpers, and equipment.

     Participation is entirely voluntary. Each handler accepts full responsibility for their own actions, the actions of their dog(s), and the actions of any guests they bring onto the property.

     Northeast Ohio Working Dogs, its members, decoys, helpers, instructors, volunteers, property owners, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, theft, damage, or expense incurred by any participant, spectator, guest, or dog arising from attendance or participation in club activities, regardless of cause, except where prohibited by applicable law.

     Handlers further agree to:

    • Maintain control of their dog at all times.

    • Disclose any known bite history, aggression issues, or behavioral concerns prior to participation.

    • Accept full financial responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses caused by themselves or their dog.

    • Indemnify and hold harmless Northeast Ohio Working Dogs, its members, instructors, decoys, volunteers, and property owners from any claims, lawsuits, demands, damages, costs, attorney fees, or liabilities arising from their participation or the actions of their dog.

     Participants acknowledge that Northeast Ohio Working Dogs does not guarantee the safety, suitability, or behavior of any dog, handler, spectator, or attendee present at training.

     Parents and guardians are solely responsible for supervising minors at all times. Minors may not approach dogs, training equipment, decoys, or active training scenarios without express permission and supervision.

     By attending any Northeast Ohio Working Dogs event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and voluntarily accepted these risks and responsibilities and agree that participation constitutes acceptance of these terms.

     


    If you are unwilling to assume these risks and responsibilities, do not attend or participate in training activities.
