  • 1. Eligibility

  • 2. Electoral Districts

    Please select the electoral district you are applying to. If you are interested in applying to more than one electoral district, you may also select your additional preferences.  Please refer to the job posting for a list of available electoral districts.   • 3. Bilingual Designation - English and French

    Some of the electoral districts are designated bilingual in English and French.
  • How would you describe your proficiency in French? 

    None: I cannot speak or read French

    Novice: I know isolated words, some common phrases and basic courtesies.

    Intermediate: I am able to handle simple communicative tasks and social situations. I can ask and answer questions and participate in simple conversations on topics beyond the most immediate needs and write in simple sentences and complete forms.

    Advanced (professional working knowledge): I can speak coherently linking sentences together smoothly so that the response is more than just a collection of sentences. I can verbalize my ideas and thoughts clearly and logically and handle uncomplicated, routine business correspondence.

    Advanced-Plus: I can speak at length about a topic using both main and supporting arguments. I can provide detailed explanations, descriptions and narration and discuss a wide range of interests.

    Superior and/or Native Speaker: I can present arguments convincingly and explain complicated or technical procedures and processes. I possess the language skills to negotiate, advise, persuade and propose and defend a course of action effectively. I have the grammar and vocabulary to verbalize ideas and thoughts ranging from the concrete to the conceptual. I can express myself in most formal and informal writing on practical, social and professional topics.

    Elections Ontario uses a combination of commonlyused software and proprietary computer systems to conduct election events.

    None: I’m not familiar or comfortable with computers

    Limited: I’m familiar with basic tools and functions – such as sending emails and using a search engine.

    Intermediate: I’m comfortable with computers and have experience with office tools such as Word™ and Excel™.

    Advanced: I’m well experienced with computers and software systems. I can learn new systems easily and am comfortable teaching others how to use computer systems and tools.
