Our small business is expanding and we are seeking someone to join our team that is friendly, reliable, and has a passion for home decor and apparel. Because our store has a specific look and feel, our goal is to find someone whose decorating style naturally aligns with the warm, cozy aesthetic of our store that our customers know and love. Any applicant selected for an in-person interview will be required to decorate a small area of the store using provided decor pieces so we can get a feel for their creativity and styling approach.
This position starts at 1-2 days per week (7 hours each day), with additional hours available during our busy holiday seasons. Specific days will be determined upon hiring.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, welcoming manner
- Operating the cash register/POS system - along with balancing cash drawer at end of day
- Restocking merchandise - displaying it as you would decorate a space within your home (ex. pairing a candle ring, candle and an accent piece on a tray etc.)
- Creating and maintaining attractive product displays
- Assist with seasonal floor set changes
- Assist with store events, workshops and special events
- General cleaning and organization of the store (ex. sweeping, dusting, cleaning windows, straighten products etc)
- Folding apparel to maintain visual appeal
- Maintain the overall aesthetic and brand image of the store
Requirements:
- Friday and Saturday availability is required
- Decorating, merchandising, or home decor experience
- Comfortable approaching and assisting customers
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb a step stool or ladder
- Self motivated and dependable
- Friendly, positive attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
