Promoting First Relationships Program®; Strengthening Caregiver-Child Connection for Neurodiverse Families Registration
  • Promoting First Relationships Program®; Strengthening Caregiver-Child Connection for Neurodiverse Families

Presented by: Dr. Monica Oxford and Kendall Appell
  • This session explores how Promoting First Relationships (PFR) consultation strategies can be used to support and strengthen connections between families and their neurodiverse children. PFR is an evidence-based home visiting model rooted in attachment theory that takes a strengths-based approach to family support. Using unedited video footage as a reflective tool, PFR helps caregivers deepen their understanding of their child by enhancing their capacity to observe, interpret, and respond to their child's unique communications, cues, and behaviors.

The session will open with a brief overview of the PFR theoretical framework and its supporting research, followed by an exploration of how PFR consultation strategies are particularly well-suited to meet the unique needs of families raising neurodiverse children.

Please note: This will a live training only and will not be recorded.
