NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN BETWEEN June 30 – August 15, 2026. All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 PM on August 15th. Award recipients will be announced at the 2026 Annual Gala on October 7, 2026 at the Kogod Courtyard, Smithsonian American Art Museum. Awardees will be notified of their selection around August 21.
WHO CAN SUBMIT A NOMINATION
Members of the Association (Individual, Corporate/Trade Partners) and Community Partners are eligible to submit. Self-nominations are welcome.
WHO CAN BE NOMINATED
Nominees can be members or non-members of the Association. We encourage cross-category nominations for example, a General Contractor can nominate a Subcontractor (member or non-member), and a Subcontractor can nominate a General Contractor. This opens the opportunity for well-deserving companies and individuals across the DMV to be recognized.

SUBCONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR For Outstanding Partnership & Quality
Honoring a subcontractor whose craftsmanship, reliability, and collaborative spirit make every project stronger and every partner better. Recognizes a subcontractor who demonstrates outstanding craftsmanship and professionalism, upholds MDCHCA's mission and values through their work and partnerships, and supports the broader contractor community through mentorship and collaboration. The subcontractor of the year upholds excellence in business management and technical expertise, and has demonstrated continued growth and makes opportunities for others in the DMV area.
