  • Voluntary Financial Commitment

    According to tradition, it is customary for Jews annually to contribute towards the upkeep and maintenance of the Temple. For Temple Beth El, the Sustaining Voluntary Financial Commitment Level for each adult member of the household, as determined by the Board of Directors for fiscal year 2026-27, is $1,960.   If every adult member donates that amount, our operating budget will be balanced

    Understanding that not all members can make a Sustaining Level commitment, please determine the amount you are willing and able to donate.  All commitments are valued; none are too small.  Thank you to everyone that contributes and a special thank you to those who contribute above the Sustaining VFC Level

    In 2025-26 we introduced the "VFC Circle of Giving", to recognize members who contribute above the Sustaining VFC level. It covers attendance at TBE in-house programs throughout the year at no charge for member and children, a High Holiday seat, and the most common contributions throughout the year: Yahrzeit donations; a Monthly Kiddush Sponsorship; Yom Kippur Book of Remembrance; Shalach Manot; Leagrams; Religious School donation; and Men’s Club or Sisterhood basic membership. 

    As in the past, all members can select Single Pay Additional Donations on page 2 to submit along with your Voluntary Financial Commitment.

    Please note: No financial commitment is required for children of adult members: minors; or dependents ages 18-26 and living in the same household, enrolled in a higher education program, or serving in the military.

  • We ask that you complete the form and return it to Temple Beth El by June 30, 2026 either through this online form, by mailing it to Temple Beth El, PO Box 727, East Petersburg, PA 17520-0727, or by dropping it off at Temple Beth El in the black mailbox located on the wall next to the office door.

    If sending your payment by mail, PLEASE submit initial payment or full payment (if possible) TO THE TEMPLE OFFICE BY JULY 15, 2026.

    If you are at least age 70 ½, contributions up to $100,000 may be made directly from a traditional IRA to a qualified charity, such as Temple Beth El. These are called Qualified Charitable Distributions, or QCDs. Each spouse can make a separate QCD. Such distributions generally are not taxable income to the donor, even if they are part of an annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Please check with your tax advisor. Your IRA fiduciary can make arrangements for QCD payments.

    NOTE: For accounting requirements, this requires a SINGLE, lump-sum payment, regardless of your VFC payment plan.

    * Asterisked items below are included in the Per-Adult VFC Circle of Giving, along with attendance at all in-house TBE events at no charge for member and children (except for Pesach seder & other extended-cost events).
